Lyle Patterson, Principal

Lyle comes from a long line of builders in Nashville with his father James E. Patterson & uncle Cecil Fox, as they formed the partnership of Patterson & Fox in the mid 1950's. Lyle began his career early while working alongside his father of Patterson Contractors Inc. in the 1980's. He learned from the ground up with first hand experience each summer working with carpenters, draftsmen, drywall crews, foundation, waterproofing, painters and everything construction. This experience helped with the transition when Lyle took over at his father's passing. In 1992 he added a successful home inspection company (Southern Home Inspections) to compliment the construction business. In 2014 he joined the City of Belle Meade as the Director of Building & Zoning, Floodplain Administrator, and Stormwater Manager. During his stewardship, the department was taken to the highest level and experienced substantial monetary increases each year due to evaluations of current trends, problem identification and implementation of concepts. In 2020 he was impetus in forming the Historic Zoning Overlay for the city having recognized a trend in tear downs and a lack of preservation. In 2020 he was named the Assistant City Manager where he was the architect to many ordinances and resolutions having a keen eye for expediting a direction. He fostered relationships with residents, council members, contractors, engineers and coworkers that are life long.
